Does that Vodka still taste good
drinking it all alone?
Do you have your music blasting
for you and no one but you ?
You happy now?
That you don’t get the invite.
When you rant, stumble and fall
And no one is there to see
Will you miss someone who cares?
Give a single thought to me?
If not for me,
You don’t get the invite.
Well you always said it was all about me,
They never liked you much anyway,
You looked good enough to play the part,
But not good enough for them,
And no good for me
Your ‘sun’s out guns out’ Vodka punch , never made thegrade
Everyone preferred you sitting in the shade
xo
It was all me, you were right,
You never would’ve got the invite. (and now you don’t, no you don’t)
You aint the best party guest
Spilling your drinks all over the rest (of their house)
Making a fool of you and me,
Darling anyone with eyes could see
You were only invited, because of me
But never again, James Dean.
You're off the list, no invitee!
Well you always did say it was all about me, that they never liked you much anyway,
You looked good enough to play the part, but not good enough for them, no good for me
Your guns out suns out, Vodka punch never made quite an impression
It was all me, you were right, You never would’ve got the invite. (and now you don’t, you don’t) you’re alone, alone and you won’t, no, you won’t, no, no you won’t.
A note from the lyricist
This song is part of a portfolio of songs that will be collectively titled, The Book of James. This songs meaning is derived from a toxic relationship of an extremely socially active couple, however, it was mostly the female that was the main invitee, because the male counterpart was not a a very good party guest, shall we say. ;)
