It seems we all need more of that

We need to bring humble back

It seems like a better way to act

Some coaches scream, you gotta be the best

Reliving glory days, man, give it a rest

Going out of their way, just to be seen

Acting like they did when they turned 18. Or..

Insecurity posting all the time

You and your family aren’t better than mine

Thinking because it happened that we all want to know

Sending out nonsense, trying boost your ego

We need to bring humble back

It seems we all need more of that

We need to bring humble back

It seems like a better way to act

Short Guys complexes up in their big trucks

Putting everybody down from dawn to dusk

You don’t have to be the party, always on display

Take a different approach and be someone who’s brave.

And if you’re not sure how to act, try this instead

Be patient and kind, like Corinthians said

There weren’t many there on that day when Dad died

Just a few of us sitting there by his side

He always kept to himself, loved our family, had a ball

And what I wouldn’t do for just one more call. I’d tell him

I tried to be a different person; I tried wearing type-a hats.

Thinking I’d like the attention and all of that

But just like you, I realized I don’t crave the limelight

I’d much rather be a humble hero at night

And when it’s my turn to pass on some advice

I’ll keep it simple and I’ll keep it concise, and I’ll say..
