Well I,
Haven’t heard a song in a while
That fits how I feel.
Trying to find something patient,
Trying to find something real.
And I know you
May be confused about the things
That I do
Just know it’s not personal,
No, it’s not about you
I’ve been LOST
on this road
No matter where I go
I’ve been LOST
on my own
Can’t find home
At a young age,
Things were taken from me
That other people seem
To have gotten
For free
Had to work for love
to feel not alone
when everybody else
had a safe place to call home.
I’ve been LOST
on this road.
No, I can’t find home.
I’ve been LOST
on my own.
Can’t find home.
There’s a feeling inside
so insecure
my chest feels empty
as I long for
something more.
I used to try to fill the void
with sex and booze
really, I was just lonely
until I found you.
I’ve been LOST
on this road.
Can’t find home.
I’ve been LOST
on my own.
Can’t find home.
A note from the lyricist
Song took me about 10 minutes to write. It’s about my journey of having Borderline Personality Disorder as an Adult, as a result of an unstable upbringing in a dysfunctional home.
