Pandora's Stuff

18 May 2026

My friend said,

Let's meet up at this rare finds auction.

Now that plays over and over in my head.

I replied -- I have more than enough.

But I gave in – This is how I came to own,

Pandora's stuff.

The sale was about to end, but where was my friend?

His being always late was getting old ---

I finally saw him looking for me, and so I waved,

When I heard the auctioneer scream SOLD!

I explained that I was only waving to a friend,

Please-- I have more than enough.

And the auctioneer said, "Too bad, all sales final!"

You just bought all of Pandora's stuff.

It’s hard to admit I am not tough enough,

Because the very next chance I get,

I will take a sneak peek at Pandora's stuff.

All of Pandora’s stuff was in this single box,

And each time I dropped it at the second chance place.

When I arrived home, there it was upon my doorstep.

Well, it's decision time for me to face.

That in this box -- in my shaking hands,

Rests the fate of the whole human race.

So now the owner of the storage locker holds the key,

I paid him lots not to give it back to me.

He laughs now, watching me trying to break back in.

Every day I beg him for the key.

He asks if I have gone insane,

And that I should walk the walk.

All while Pandora whispers in my brain,

Come on, baby, you can break the lock.

It doesn’t help when my friend texts me.

To remind me, I have the option,

To get rid of that evil box.

I should offer it at a rare finds auction.

Now that plays over and over in my head,

But instead --- no word of a lie.

Even today, I am still trying to outfox,

The storage locker guy.

I sure hate that I love that damn box.

It’s hard to admit I am not tough enough,

Because the very next chance I get,

I will take a sneak peek at Pandora's stuff.

Pandora's stuff,

Pandora's stuff.
