Childhood clocked me out
Even on a recount
The soiled hands of time
Slowly came around to me
To the baker's dozen
Of juvenile destiny
I guess twelve times
I did childhood right
Before Genesis breathed
With all its might
And blew out all the candles
On my cake
I still want to play
As I did yesterday
Childhood went so fast
Did you know what was in store
When time would blindly say
You're not a kid anymore
All say
Blow out the light
And be happy
Twelve times
You did childhood right
I guess twelve times
I did childhood right
Before Genesis breathed
With all its might
And blew out all the candles
On my cake
All say
Blow out the light
And be happy
Twelve times
You did childhood right
Remember this day, child
The baker's dozen
Is everyone's Genesis
I remember —
There was no mention
To my innocence
How Genesis would become my Revelation
How Genesis would —
